China’s Baidu.com Inc (NASDAQ: BIDU) continued to dominate the country’s Web search market in the third quarter, research firm Analysys International said.
China search engine market revenue (excluding from channel) has reached RMB 824.5 million in the third quarter of 2007, representing an increase of 25.4% over the previous quarter, and 98.3% year on year.
Baidu had a 61.5 percent share in the third quarter, compared with 58.1 percent in the previous quarter, Analysys said.

China search engine market is highly concentrated in the third quarter, Baidu, Google and Yahoo China accounted for 94.6% from last quarter’s 92.5%. Baidu and other 6 search engine companies accounted for 99% from last quarter’s 98.8%.
From the revenue perspective, Baidu occupied the market share of 60.5% from last quarter’s 58.1%, representing an increasing of 23.8% quarter on quarter. Its new products, including voice search (test version), game search and Baidu TV advertising, promote its revenue with high growth speed.
Google followed Baidu with market share of 23.7%, now it’s the legal internet content provider in China after getting the ICP license in July. Its new products news pictures, audio search (Chinese version) and cooperation with Tianya Club will promote its business with steady growth.
China’s online search market was worth 811.7 million yuan ($108.5 million) in the third quarter, up 95.2 percent from a year earlier, the report said.
