Sometimes we want some of our web pages not to appear on search engine results. Personalized dashboard page and steps to an online transaction are few of the pages that don’t matter to visitors because they are tailored transactions specific to sessions only.
There are several ways to remove contents from search engine index:
- robots.txt
- nofollow meta directive
- noindex meta directive
- remove link to that/those page(s)
- .htaccess
- Google Webmaster URL removal tool
