You're right. The market here isn't as competitive as in UK.

In 2005 I submitted a local site to Google for hidden text and a week later the site disappeared from Google's index. But it didn't take long before it was reinstated back — after removing those hidden text.

HK — and Asia in general — has a long way to go before achieving similar status as with US or Europe.

Its a big educational piece and alot of knowledge sharing required.

I guess the market where you are is not as competitive – but just out of interest have you experience any sites which have recently been banned or penalised by Google?

We have seen many sites in very competitive sectors penalised for what looks like link buying their way up the search engine rankings.
