Yesterday marked the first month since my wedding day. It was also coupled with another SEO event in town as BeansBox, Internet Professionals Association of Hong Kong organized the Search Engine Marketing Seminar For Business Owners and Marketers at the cozy and convenient venue at Cliftons in Central.

The event promptly started at 7pm and I was introduced by Belle, after short welcome address by Lawrence Tse of iProA and a Clifton Hong Kong manager. My presentation was more high level than the last time we had last March as it aims to provide an insight of the importance of search engine marketing to website owners and businesses.

Topics I touched included:

* Why our websites should be visible on search engines
* Why search engines are important and what are the advantages of organic and paid search
* How to decide whether to do search engine marketing in-house or outsourced
* How to pick the right agency (and pinpoint suspicious ones)

As with any event like this, I met new friends from South China Morning Post, Mega Pacific, DataDevelop Consulting, Moser, Fleishman Hillard, Dale Carnegie Training and more. With the upcoming BarCamp and Twestival event happening this weekend, I hope to meet and interact with them again.
