A few days ago, SE Roundtable reports that Google has added an important feature in its external keyword research tool. By showing the search volume numbers, we have a better idea of the real numbers behind search volume trends in graphical representations previously shown.
Search volume trends still shows up if you wish to. However, we had no idea if the numbers behind those green bars are in the range of hundreds or thousands. Real numbers, doesn’t matter if they’re just approximates, will give us a better picture of how popular the keywords are compared to other related keywords.
If I want to find out what is the approximate number of Google queries for “hong kong blog” in Hong Kong, I can select Hong Kong as location and in a second, I’m able to determine if optimizing for this keyword indeed is a worthy thing to do.
